Located at Timberline, the Goodwin-Greene hut was built in memory of mountaineers Peter Goodwin and Carl Greene and is a member of the Braun Hut System. Sitting at 11,680' the hut is 12 miles south of Ajax (Aspen Ski Area). It's worth noting that the Barnard Hut and other huts in the Braun system are located in areas that are known for avalanches with recurring avalanche cycles. The routes leading into the Goodwin-Greene Hut are unmarked and are not maintained. These huts are only for the experienced back country traveler. The Goodwin-Greene is managed by the 10th Mountain Division Hut Association and all reservations should be made at huts.org.
