Flat Tops Central

Glenwood Springs Flat Tops

With over 230,000 acres of untouched powder to explore; you really can't go wrong by heading out to the Flat Tops. Located just north of Glenwood Springs Colorado, the Flat Tops are the second largest plateaued region in the state. The terrain is mostly high alpine tundra with a few sharp peaks scattered throughout. Due to its size and distance from the front range of Colorado, the region in general sees less traffic than that of Vail Pass or Piney Lakes. More often than not, we recommend that our snowmobile renters and timbersled renters check out the region for themselves just so they can experience a full day without dealing with the Vail Pass tour groups. From our shop in Eagle-Vail, it takes roughly an hour to find yourself at a trail head. With the area being as large as it is, we can't stress enough that one must be completely aware of his/her gas levels in relation to how far they have traveled from their trailers.
