Paddle Board Nottingham Lake

Located below Beaver Creek in Avon Colorado, Nottingham Park is a favorite for locals and visitors alike. Home to beach volleyball courts, outdoor grilling areas, swim beaches, recreation paths, concert venues and large open athletic fields, the park has a little something for everyone. In the center of the park is Benchmark Reservoir which is also known as Nottingham Lake. Swimming is only permitted in certain locations but you are open to Stand Up Paddle Board the entire body of water. Named after the son of William Nottingham who was one of the first Anglo settlers in the region back in 1880, the Harry A. Nottingham lake was built in 1980 and acts as an emergency water supply to the town of Avon. The lake itself keeps an average depth of 10 feet with 15 feet being the deepest. With the shallow water comes warm water which is a rare gift here in the high country.  Nottingham Lake is the ideal location to learn how to Paddle Board and to spend the day with the family. Our shop is conveniently located just 3 miles from the park entrance, making Nottingham Lake the nearest location to Paddle Board that doesn’t involve the more advanced skills required to Paddle Board on rivers.

It is worth noting that fishing is also permitted in Nottingham Lake but you will need to have a State of Colorado fishing license. You can purchase a fishing license at the Nottingham cabin which is located at the park entrance.
