Buena Vista, Colorado
Home to the Collegiate Peaks and the best Whitewater and Off-roading in the state
Buena Vista Colorado offers something for everyone and every season.
The summer’s are abundant with river rafting and kayaking, music festivals, off-roading, fishing, mountain biking, and horseback riding all within a half hour drive from town. Buena Vista also boasts a whitewater park in town, where kayakers can be seen almost daily in the summer playing in one of the 5 unique features. Winters offer a chance to indulge in snow sports including snowmobiling, timbersledding, downhill and cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Fall in BV offers some of Colorado’s most spectacular colors in and around town with more milder temperatures.
Any season in Buena Vista is perfect for a walk along the Arkansas River or a dip and some spa treatments at one of the local hot springs Mt. Princeton or Cottonwood, both easily accessible and open year round.
If the lore of the wild west is calling you, head over to the ghost town of St. Elmo or explore the many mining ruins throughout the area nestled within the 14,000 ft. peaks. If you’re looking for a more hands on experience, a ride on a burro awaits you during the Gold Rush Event in August.
There are several lodging options offering travelers everything from upscale in-town accomodations, like those at the Surf Hotel to a more remote setting at Mt. Princeton Lodge. Equally impressive are the dining options. You’ll be surprised at the diversity with everything from upscale Asian to locally sourced organic eateries. BV is also home to a local brewery, aptly named Eddyline with a restaurant in the new South Main section of town.
Whatever your adventure, at RMAR our goal is to provide you with the experience of a lifetime in any season. From snowmobiling and snow biking to high altitude RzR tours and Slingshots, we are here to help you explore all that Buena Vista and the surrounding areas have to offer.
